From the time my uncle Sam arrived in Detroit in the 1940’s, he drove around the city in a Cadillac. A car mechanic by training, many wondered how he could drive such cars on his salary. He carefully purchased late model caddies, fixed them up and maintained them vigilantly. He only washed them with rain water and a chamois, and changed the oil every 1,000 miles. His last car was a 1968 Eldorado, much like the one seen here.
